OBJECTIVES AND CONTENTS

Objectives of the Course Unit: This course aims to introduce the communication in different cultures and analysis the interaction of cultures with different symbols in the context of communication.
Contents of the Course Unit: Contents of the course include the subjects as in defining the concept of communication, Defining the concept of culture, the concept of globalization and its effects on culture, linking between globalization and communication, explanation of intercultural communication situations, summarizing of cultural values and norms.

KEY LEARNING OUTCOMES OF THE COURSE UNIT (On successful completion of this course unit, students/learners will or will be able to)

Tell the basic concepts and theoretical framework of intercultural communication through case studies
Rephrase the status of intercultural communication activities in the popular culture from a critical point of view
Interpret the multicultural and hybrid forms of the new citizenship generated with globalization through media content and different artistic types of texts
Compare the forms of nation-state and other states
Analyze the values, norms, traditions and customs in different cultures in the context of intercultural communication through samples
