OBJECTIVES AND CONTENTS

Objectives of the Course Unit: This course aims at illustrating and analysing the cultural themes and motifs reflected in the representative works of Ethnic literature and engaging the students with the criticism of racial and ethnic issues in the texts and developing their own solutions to these matters.
Contents of the Course Unit: This course deals with race and ethnic differences through literary perspective and outline social, historical, and ethnic influences in the development of Ethnic literature.

KEY LEARNING OUTCOMES OF THE COURSE UNIT (On successful completion of this course unit, students/learners will or will be able to)

outline social, historical, and ethnic influences in the development of Ethnic literature.
illustrate and analyse the cultural themes and motifs reflected in the representative works of Ethnic literature.
analyse texts dealing with race and ethnic differences through literary perspective.
criticize racial and ethnic issues in the text and develop their own solutions to these matters.
evaluate relevant secondary sources in an essay on race and ethnicity by applying MLA writing methods.
