OBJECTIVES AND CONTENTS

Objectives of the Course Unit: The objective of this course is to help students understand the general characteristics of the Turkish prose, and to provide the knowledge and skills necessary to recognize and understand the sample texts.
Contents of the Course Unit: The historical development of the Turkish prose, its general characteristics and style, Classical Turkish literature prose texts.

KEY LEARNING OUTCOMES OF THE COURSE UNIT (On successful completion of this course unit, students/learners will or will be able to)

Examine the general characteristics of Turkish prose.
Discover the historical development of Turkish prose through sample texts.
Distinguish the stylistic features and differences of the sample texts.
Relate styles used in prose with the historical development of prose.
Evaluate the sample texts by considering the style, language and general characteristics of prose.
