OBJECTIVES AND CONTENTS

Objectives of the Course Unit: The aim of this course is to teach the relationship between city, culture and civilization in the context of scientific data and to introduce the cities of the world starting from the first urbanization process.
Contents of the Course Unit: This course includes the first urbanization movements starting from the Neolithic period, the formation and development of the city, culture, civilization concepts Western and Eastern civilizations, Islamic and Christian civilizations, cities in Anatolia.

KEY LEARNING OUTCOMES OF THE COURSE UNIT (On successful completion of this course unit, students/learners will or will be able to)

Explain civilization, city, city architecture, historical concepts and definitions.
Explain the reflection of different civilizations and cultures to the form of the city starting from the first urbanization formation.
Interpret the development of the urbanization movement from past to present and its modern reflection on urbanization with its positives and negatives.
