OBJECTIVES AND CONTENTS

Objectives of the Course Unit: The objective of the course is to help students understand the classification of Contemporary Turkic Dialects, Western (Oguz) Group Dialects, Eastern Group Dialects, Place of Western and Eastern Group Dialects in Contemporary and Historical Turkish dialects.
Contents of the Course Unit: Contents of the course include classification of Contemporary Turkic Dialects, Western (Oguz) Group Dialects, Eastern Group Dialects, Place of Western and Eastern Group Dialects in Contemporary and Historical Turkish dialects.

List the classification form of Modern Turkic Dialects proposed by the researchers.
Examine the Western (Oguz) and Eastern Group Dialects on sample texts.
Distinguish the phonetic, morphological and syntactic characteristics of Western Group Dialects on sample texts.
Distinguish the phonetic, morphological and syntactic characteristics of Eastern Group Dialects on sample texts.
Evaluate the place of Western and Eastern Group Dialects within historical and modern contemporary dialects.
