OBJECTIVES AND CONTENTS

Objectives of the Course Unit: This course aims to discuss news gathering and writing techniques, news sources and usage, social function and sociological importance of news, and make the student perform basic level news text writing work.
Contents of the Course Unit: Contents of the course include topics such as the development of reporting and journalism, the technical characteristics of the news, the details that need to be considered in news writing and the priority of the news in social life.

KEY LEARNING OUTCOMES OF THE COURSE UNIT (On successful completion of this course unit, students/learners will or will be able to)

Identify news gathering techniques.
Examine news gathering and development in a basic framework.
Evaluate the social reflections of news through three newspapers as an example.
Decide which news resource to use when creating a news.
Arrange a news again within framework of techniques taught in the course.
