OBJECTIVES AND CONTENTS

Objectives of the Course Unit: Objective of the course is to help students gain theoretical, analytical and practical knowledge / skills about money, banking, financial system and central banking
Contents of the Course Unit: Contents of the course include definition, functions and types of money, money supply and demand, monetary systems and monetary theories, foreign exchange markets and monetary policies

KEY LEARNING OUTCOMES OF THE COURSE UNIT (On successful completion of this course unit, students/learners will or will be able to)

Define the basic concepts of monetary policy and banking
Explain the balance sheet of the Central Bank
Discuss the basic principles and practices of central banking
Analyze the role of financial intermediaries by using economic theory
Analyze money and monetary issues in theory and practice
