OBJECTIVES AND CONTENTS

Objectives of the Course Unit: It is aimed to protect mental health and to gain knowledge and skills about care,education and rehabilitation in case of illness.
Contents of the Course Unit: Basic Concepts in Mental Health and Disease Nursing, General Symptoms of Mental Diseases, Childhood and Adolescent Mental Disorders and Nursing Approach, Personality Disorders and Nursing Approach, Crisis, Stress, Anxiety, Somatoform Disorders, Affective Disorders, Schizophrenia and Psychotic Disorders Addiction, Eating Disorders, Sexual Dysfunctions and Special Areas in Mental Health and Disease Nursing.

Explains the basic concepts and theories.
Applies nursing care for preventive mental health.
Asesses problems and applies nursing process in care.
