OBJECTIVES AND CONTENTS

Objectives of the Course Unit: To present the theory and applications of engineering mechanics to students.
Contents of the Course Unit: Particle kinematics; particle kinetics: Force and acceleration, work and energy, impulse and momentum; planar kinematics of rigid body; Planar kinetics of rigid body: Force and acceleration, work and energy, impulse and momentum, three-dimensional kinematics of rigid body

Solve kinematic and kinetic problems involving rectilinear and curvilinear motion of particles
Apply the principles of work and energy, conservation of energy, impulse and momentum, and conservation of momentum to the solution of engineering problems involving particles and systems of particles
Solve kinematic and kinetic problems involving the translation and rotation of a rigid body
Apply the principles of work and energy, conservation of energy, impulse and momentum, and conservation of momentum to the solution of engineering problems involving rigid bodies in planar motion
Solve kinetic and kinematic problems involving rigid bodies in three-dimensional motion
