OBJECTIVES AND CONTENTS

Objectives of the Course Unit: It is aimed to teach the diversity of living things, the structural and functional properties of cells and tissues, their evolution, heredity in living things, biochemical events in living things, the relationship of living things with each other and the inanimate environment, and the biological systems existing in nature.
Contents of the Course Unit: Basic components of life, organelles formed by atom, molecule, macromolecule, macromolecule complexes and the basic structure of the cell, plant and animal cells according to their structure and functions, energy production in the cell, photosynthesis, cell respiration, cell division, gene, chromosome, genome concepts are examined.

Students can define the basic concepts related to the living world.
Students can describe the organization in the living world within the scope of basic biological theories.
Students will be able to relate the structural and functional features of cell organization with each other.
Students will be able to explain the function of cell organelles and relate them to formations in the whole cell and organism.
Students can compare prokaryotic and eukaryotic cells.
Students know the properties of cell proliferation and genetic material.
Students will be able to explain the events of metabolism.
