OBJECTIVES AND CONTENTS
Objectives of the Course Unit:	This course aims to improve aptitude for analysing basic dynamics of the modern Middle East policy within the historical process and explaining policies/ viewpoints developed by countries/societies in the region against regional and international developments.
Contents of the Course Unit:	Contents of the course is political, communal and economic structure of the Middle East, spread of Islamism and developments in the Ottoman period, world war and transformation of the region after war and events being gone through in the region after Cold War till present day.

KEY LEARNING OUTCOMES OF THE COURSE UNIT (On successful completion of this course unit, students/learners will or will be able to)
Explain modern history in the Middle East and emergence of “nation state” system in the region
Analyze the transformation in the Middle East from theoretical perspective
Interpret conflicts in the Middle East over policies in the Arab World, Iran ve Israel
Evaluate approaches of regional and international powers as in Turkey, Russia, China, European Countries and the USA against the region for current matters in the Middle East over relationships in the Middle East based on self-interest
