OBJECTIVES AND CONTENTS

Objectives of the Course Unit: It is aimed to teach the epidemiology of infectious diseases and general epidemiological principles in infectious diseases.
Contents of the Course Unit: Infectious diseases epidemiology and general epidemiological principles in infectious diseases, Causes of infectious diseases, Microorganisms and virulence factors, Host defense mechanisms, Methods of fighting against infectious diseases, Nosocomial infections and prevention from nosocomial infections, Health personnel and hand washing, Upper respiratory tract infections, Pneumonias, Acute Diarrhea, Urinary tract infections, Group A beta-hemolytic streptococcus (GGBHS) infections, Pulmonary and extrapulmonary organ tuberculosis, Viral hepatitis Sexually transmitted diseases, Acquiredimmunodeficiencysyndrome (AIDS) and prevention, Infectious complications of blood and blood product transfusion, Blood-borne infections and health personnel
