OBJECTIVES AND CONTENTS

Objectives of the Course Unit: Language Development course aims to enable students to understand the process of language development and to learn about cognitive, social and biological factors affecting this process. In addition, it aims to gain skills in theoretical approaches in language development, language disorders and evaluation of language development.
Contents of the Course Unit: The course covers the stages of language development, the components of language (phonology, morphology, syntax, semantics, pragmatics) and the theoretical approaches in this process. Individual differences in language development, childhood language disorders and methods for the assessment of language development are also covered.
