OBJECTIVES AND CONTENTS

Objectives of the Course Unit: This course aims to give the perspective of critical approach to mainstream communication and its applications.
Contents of the Course Unit: The contents of the course include the subjects such as media and public relations in the process of globalization, rhetorical and critical approaches in public relations, Frankfurt School: cultural industry, public opinion and hegemony, cultural industry.

KEY LEARNING OUTCOMES OF THE COURSE UNIT (On successful completion of this course unit, students/learners will or will be able to)

Explain rhetorical and critical approaches in public relations.
Determine the role of media and public relations in the process of globalization.
Give an example about the concept of cultural industry.
Analyse the media-propaganda model of Herman/Chomsky.
