OBJECTIVES AND CONTENTS

Objectives of the Course Unit: The aim of the course is to look at media studies from the perspective of identity and culture, and to transfer popular culture within the framework of art, music and media genres.
Contents of the Course Unit: The content of the course consists of basic information about the place of identity, culture and popular culture phenomena in media research.

Explain the basic information about the concept of popular culture.
Distinguish the differences between mainstream media studies and cultural studies.
Summarize popular culture studies and evaluate by giving examples from daily life.
Analyzes popular culture through examples in the fields of media, art and music.
