OBJECTIVES AND CONTENTS
Objectives of the Course Unit:	Dersin amacı; öğrencinin tarihsel bir perspektiften günümüz çevre-toplum ilişkisine dair bir farkındalık geliştirmesi ve çevre sorunları ile kaynakların kullanımı ve korunması konusunun sosyolojik boyutunu kavramasını sağlamaktır.
Contents of the Course Unit:	Dersin içeriğini; doğal çevrenin kontrolü, doğaya hakimiyet ve toplumsal düzenleme, modernleşme sürecinde doğa-insan ilişkisi, çevre-toplum ilişkisinin gelişimi ve toplumlararası farklılıklar, çevre sorunları ve üzerine görüşler, günümüzde çevre sorunları ve çözüm arayışları, çevrenin küreselleşme, siyaset, ekonomi ya da toplumlararası eşitsizlik gibi kavramlarla ilişkisi, sürdürülebilirlik ve sürdürülebilirliğe yönelik yaklaşım oluşturmaktadır. Ders ayrıca belgesel gösterimiyle de desteklenecektir.

Çevre kavramını tanır ve çevre-toplum ilişkisini sosyolojik olarak yorumlar.
Çevre kavramına öğrendiği yaklaşımlar aracılığıyla kompleks bir bakış açısı geliştirir
Toplumların çevreleri ile kurdukları ilişkilerde benzerlik ve farklılıkları ayırt eder.
Çevre sorunlarına ilişkin araştırma önerisi hazırlar.
Toplum ile doğa arasındaki ilişkinin dönüşümünü tarihsel bir perspektiften yola çıkarak değerlendirir.
Günümüz çevre sorunlarını derste öğrendiği bilgiler aracılığıyla değerlendirir.
Çevre ile siyaset, küreselleşme, ekonomi, toplumlararası eşitsizlik arasındaki ilişkiyi tartışır.
