OBJECTIVES AND CONTENTS

Objectives of the Course Unit: This course aims to teach the students the Logistics information systems, to be aware of the logistics software technologies, to know the advanced planning systems (APS) and to be able to manage the implementation projects.
Contents of the Course Unit: Contents of the course include the subjects such as the basic concepts and components of logistics information systems. Automatic identification systems (Barcode and other), RFID systems, project management and implementations, Real-time geolocation systems and applications, Logistics software technologies and decision support systems, Advanced planning systems and its basic concepts.

KEY LEARNING OUTCOMES OF THE COURSE UNIT (On successful completion of this course unit, students/learners will or will be able to)

Define the electronic logistics implementations.
Define the use of management information systems in logistics sector.
Apply logistic information systems to daily life, such as barcode GPRS that we often encounter in our daily life.
Analyze a project about e-Commerce.
