OBJECTIVES AND CONTENTS
Objectives of the Course Unit:	Bu dersin amacı; öğrencinin disiplinlerarası bir araştırma alanı olan kültürel çalışmaların doğuşu, tarihsel gelişimi ve yöntemini anlaması, bununla birlikte kültürü bir araştırma nesnesi olarak gören sinema, sosyoloji, tarih gibi alanların kesişme noktalarını çok yönlü bir bakış açısıyla kavramasını sağlamaktır.
Contents of the Course Unit:	Bu dersin içeriğini; kültürel çalışmalardan örnekler, temel araştırma alanları, İngiliz kültürel çalışmaları, kültür kavramına farklı yaklaşımlar, Frankfurt okulu, ekonomi politik ve eleştirel yaklaşım, popüler kültür, yöntem tartışmalar, Stuart Hall, ideoloji ve kültür, kültürel kimlik, Türkiye’de kültürel çalışmalar, sosyal medya ve kültür, sinema ve görsel kültür konuları oluşturmaktadır.

Stuart Hall’ün öncü bir isim olarak kültürel çalışmalara katkılarını özetler.
Sinema ve kültür arasındaki ilişkiyi somut örnekler üzerinden analiz eder.
Kültürel çalışmalar alanına ilişkin bilgisini farklı disiplinlerden örneklerle destekler.
Günümüzde kültürel çalışmaların önemini bir araştırma alanı olarak önemini ayırt eder.
İdeoloji kavramının kültürel çalışmalardaki merkezi önemini ayırt eder.
Türkiye’deki kültürel çalışmaların geçmişi ve geleceği üzerine tartışır.
