OBJECTIVES AND CONTENTS |

Objectives of the Course Unit: | This course aims to help students understand the functions of education a social institution by addressing the basic approaches in sociology of education, developing sociological perspective on schools within the framework of the relationship between training and modernization as especially in Turkey, ensure them have knowledge about and comment on education system extending from university to primary education in the framework of both problems and solutions. |
Contents of the Course Unit: | Contents of the course include; approaches in the sociology of education, educational concepts and social functions, education and modernization in Turkey, and the discussions on the relationship between education and economic status and gender in Turkey and discussion on university education in Turkey. |
