OBJECTIVES AND CONTENTS

Objectives of the Course Unit: This course aims to learn and apply the techniques of reinforcing the static and strength problems in historical buildings with the modern materials that are in accordance with the international conservation regulations.
Contents of the Course Unit: Contents of the course include application of reinforcement techniques, original and modern materials on historical structures in the light of international conservation legislation.

KEY LEARNING OUTCOMES OF THE COURSE UNIT (On successful completion of this course unit, students/learners will or will be able to)

Observe static and strength problems visually seen in historical structures.
Execute the static and strength problems in an interdisciplinary way with construction engineers.
Determine the reinforcement application interventions on historical structures with international legislations.
Determine the reinforcement application materials on historical structures with interdisciplinary works.
Choose reinforcement works to be applied specific to historical structure.
Prepare required procedures before historical structure reinforcement works.
Apply historical structure reinforcement works.
Report the results of historical structure reinforcement application.
