OBJECTIVES AND CONTENTS |

Objectives of the Course Unit: | The aim of this course is to provide the students with the basic concepts related to aviation security, national regulations related to aviation security, plans and programs related to airport security, basic information about the chemistry of dangerous substances, safe handling during transportation and environmental rules. |
Contents of the Course Unit: | Description of Hazardous Substances, Hazardous Substance Chemistry Toxicology Classification of dangerous substances, International and National Regulations, Hazardous Materials Documents, Proper Packaging and Marking Requirements, Handling and Stacking Rules Before and After Loading Rules for Handling Equipment limitation of quantities of substances and exemptions of quantities; prohibitions and measures related to mixed loading; Rules, preparation of safety plans for the transport of dangerous goods, Hazardous Material Emergency Actions / Rules for intervening infiltrations, Hazardous Material Disposal / Hazardous materials decomposition rules, Causes of accidents caused by hazardous materials, types and reporting of accidents. |
