OBJECTIVES AND CONTENTS

Objectives of the Course Unit: The aim of this course is; to learn the typefaces used in the inscriptions of different architectural periods.
Contents of the Course Unit: Content of this course; the historical development of calligraphy, classical works, font types and original designs in imitation of calligraphy.

KEY LEARNING OUTCOMES OF THE COURSE UNIT (On successful completion of this course unit, students/learners will or will be able to)

Has knowledge about the art of calligraphy.
Applies the prose word on paper with china ink.
Learns types of calligraphy.
Uses the technique of application of typed line examples in architectural structures.
Explains the sultans’ monograms and their properties.
