OBJECTIVES AND CONTENTS

Objectives of the Course Unit: This course aims to gain the competency of conservation and restoration of wooden works.
Contents of the Course Unit: Contents of the course include rules and methods to follow in conservation of wooden works.

KEY LEARNING OUTCOMES OF THE COURSE UNIT (On successful completion of this course unit, students/learners will or will be able to)

Differentiate the structure and types of wood.
Diagnose the types of deterioration observed in wooden works.
Prepare emergency intervention precautions against deterioration observed in wooden structures, archaeological excavations, wooden findings and wooden artworks.
Use materials, tools and devices used in conservation and restoration of wooden works.
Prepare restoration materials according to the restoration technique suitable for current original materials of wooden work.
Apply technical works regarding conservation and restoration of wooden works.
