OBJECTIVES AND CONTENTS

Objectives of the Course Unit: The aim of this course is to enable students to have knowledge about legal regulations on occupational health and safety and to follow and interpret the legal changes that may occur. Besides, it is aimed that the students will be able to determine the deficiencies or problems related to occupational safety in the food sector and to have the knowledge to take precautions on the subject.
Contents of the Course Unit: Occupational health and safety law, occupational health and safety issues.

KEY LEARNING OUTCOMES OF THE COURSE UNIT (On successful completion of this course unit, students/learners will or will be able to)

Understand the importance of safety in the workplace and in all work areas.
Carry out risk assessment at work.
Identify the physical and biological hazards in the workplace, working environment or at home and list the measures for these hazards.
Know legal regulations.
