OBJECTIVES AND CONTENTS

Objectives of the Course Unit: This course aims to introduce concepts in Information and Document Management, operations of Information and Document Management Centers in public and private sectors, Information and Document Management process, techniques and strategies, legal strategies in Information Management, information society and relations of it with technology.
Contents of the Course Unit: Contents of the course include subjects as in what is information?, information theory, information era, information resources, information society, history of information management, technology in information management (Intranet-Extranet), operations in information-document centers (Library, archive, museum, digital platforms), big data.

KEY LEARNING OUTCOMES OF THE COURSE UNIT (On successful completion of this course unit, students/learners will or will be able to)

Define basic concepts in Information and Document Management (data, information, information theory, information management etc.)
Integrate theoretical knowledge gained in the field of Information and Document Management with the process in Information and Document Management Centers in public and private sectors.
Explain importance of technology in terms of processes in Information and Document Management.
Analyze organizational effects of Information and Document Management.
