OBJECTIVES AND CONTENTS

Objectives of the Course Unit: This course aims to teach basic rules of journalism and gathering news and writing and to perform news gathering and writing applications with weekly media monitoring.
Contents of the Course Unit: Contents of the course include various stages of news production, particularly journalist identity, working conditions, definitions of news, types of news, finding a news idea and writing news, editorship and publishing.

Define professional terminology on journalism and news production.
Distinguish news types in different mediums.
Figure out the news value of the surrounding events.
Model news at introduction level.
