OBJECTIVES AND CONTENTS

Objectives of the Course Unit: This course aims to provide students with the knowledge and skills to analyze the news media within the social context by introducing the works on news production, news texts and the reception of news.
Contents of the Course Unit: Contents of the course include topic such as news production, works on news texts and news broadcasting organs.

KEY LEARNING OUTCOMES OF THE COURSE UNIT (On successful completion of this course unit, students/learners will or will be able to)

Analyze the connection between politics, economy and news.
Evaluate politic and ideologic connection between news production process and news text.
Recognize the structure and operation of news production process according to different communication tools.
Examine the concept of freedom of press in historical dimension.
