OBJECTIVES AND CONTENTS

Objectives of the Course Unit: The aim of the course is to provide conceptual and theoretical information about mass communication tools, regulation of freedom of mass communication in various political regimes.
Contents of the Course Unit: Course contents of course is about the media and legal circles, the media and the public order, media and social responsibility, freedom of the press and its problems, international law and the media, international law and press freedom, legal regulations related to the press in Turkey, employees and the rights of employers, the press in Turkey freedom problem.

Explains the basic concepts and terms of communication law.
Interpret the concept of press freedom in the historical context by using the basic concepts and terms of law.
Discuss the elements of freedom of press and its legitimate limits.
Discuss the effectiveness of new legal regulations brought about by developments in communication technologies.
