OBJECTIVES AND CONTENTS

Objectives of the Course Unit: This course aims to provide the students with information about the definition and structure of the disability groups, the studies on disabled people, the services made and the importance and place of social service in this subject.
Contents of the Course Unit: Contents of the course include the subjects such as definition of disability, disability types, considerations to be used in the study with the disabled person and his family, duties and responsibilities of the social service specialist when working with disabled individuals.

KEY LEARNING OUTCOMES OF THE COURSE UNIT (On successful completion of this course unit, students/learners will or will be able to)

Categorize the types of disability after having information about the types of disability
Decide in accordance with their roles and responsibilities in professional intervention after learning the elements that need attention when working with disabled people
Plan professional intervention for the family structure of the disabled individual by attending studies on the psychological structure of the disabled individual and their family
Design projects for policy makers for people with disabilities by understanding the ethical values and principles of social service
