OBJECTIVES AND CONTENTS

Objectives of the Course Unit: This course aims to improve student’s perspective of issues, basic concepts of social issues, theoretical approaches, various social issues around the world and in Turkey, also to improve student’s ability to create solutions.
Contents of the Course Unit: Contents of the course include description and interpretation of social issues, history, types and solutions of social issues.

KEY LEARNING OUTCOMES OF THE COURSE UNIT (On successful completion of this course unit, students/learners will or will be able to)

Explain solutions for violence to women, children and elderly by learning the types of violence and abuse
Explain issues as global environment issues by acknowledging the local environment issues occurred
Analyze potential factors affecting social structure and causing social issues.
Plan solutions to prevent social issues by using definitions of issue and theoretical approaches
