Students who graduate from the Department of Information Systems and Technologies have versatile employment opportunities in the field of information systems, which lies at the heart of digital transformation. Graduates can take on roles in various organizations operating in both the public and private sectors in areas such as software development, systems analysis and design, database management, information security, network management, cloud computing, mobile application development, and project management. In sectors such as banking and finance, healthcare, education, manufacturing, logistics, energy, telecommunications, e-commerce, and the defense industry, they can take on active roles in the development, management, and security of corporate information systems. Furthermore, by specializing in emerging technology fields such as Web3, blockchain technologies, artificial intelligence applications, big data analytics, and sustainable digital transformation, they can secure opportunities to work in innovative roles.

Occupational Profiles

The Department of Information Systems and Technologies focuses on the effective use of information technologies within organizational structures and addresses multifaceted fields such as software development, systems analysis and design, database management, information security, network and systems management, mobile and web-based application development, cloud computing, and artificial intelligence technologies. These fields require not only technical expertise but also analytical thinking and problem-solving skills in the processes of designing, integrating, and maintaining information technology infrastructures. Thanks to the interdisciplinary education provided within the program, graduates gain the competence to work not only in technical roles but also in strategic positions such as project management, digital transformation, user experience design, and technology consulting.

Horizontal Transition

The Department of Information Systems and Technologies accepts students through lateral transfer into its associate’s and bachelor’s degree programs, subject to available capacity, in accordance with the “Regulations on the Principles Governing Transfers Between Associate’s and Bachelor’s Degree Programs, Double Majors, Minors, and Inter-Institutional Credit Transfers at Higher Education Institutions.”

Vertical Transmission

All students wishing to transfer into the Information Systems and Technologies program through the Vertical Transfer process will be placed by ÖSYM provided they take the Vertical Transfer Exam and achieve the required score. Students who meet all requirements are thus eligible to pursue a four-year bachelor’s degree program at our university. In addition, associate degree students at Istanbul Gelişim University who secure a spot in the paid quota through the DGS are eligible for a 50% tuition scholarship.
