KEY LEARNING OUTCOMES OF THE COURSE UNIT (On successful completion of this course unit, students/learners will or will be able to)

Knows how the understanding of postmodern art emerged in the world and Turkish culture.
Understands and knows how / how postmodernist elements / elements are seen in architecture, painting, cinema, literature.
Knows the main features of postmodern texts such as metafiction, intertextuality, faint thematic structure, fragmented / discontinuous / disconnected feature, achronological feature, grotesque, stream of consciousness, camera eye, hypertextual design.
Knows the features such as parody, pastiche, allusion, sarcastic transformation, collage, montage in the types of intertextual relations.
As a result of this course, the student knows that the main factor in today's art branches and especially in postmodern art is the transition from Newtonian physics to Einstein physics. Can analyse postmodern texts, can easily identify their features.
Has knowledge about Dostoevsky poetics. Have knowledge about the French New Novel Movement.
Has knowledge about the concepts of Heteroglossia, Carnivalesque, Chronotope, Dialogue. Has knowledge about Michael Bakhtin and the above concepts that he brought to literature, can select and understand these concepts in the works he reads.
Recognise the famous theorists Roland Barthes and Julia Kristeva and know that they developed the theory of intertextuality.
