OBJECTIVES AND CONTENTS |
Objectives of the Course Unit: |
To teach students the basic principles that will enable them to carry out academic research in their field at international scientific standards.
To ensure that students can choose the right data collection and analysis methods in accordance with the research topic.
To ensure that students have the skills and competence to conduct research by using scientific research methods and observing ethical values.
To provide students with the ability to write scientific articles and thesis. |
Contents of the Course Unit: |
Researching the basic concepts of philosophy and methodology of science, comparing data types from various perspectives, exemplifying data collection and analysis methods.
Ensures that the skills of using academic resources effectively and transferring research results correctly are acquired.
The relationship between science, theory and research, and how the processes related to the design and realization of scientific research and its reporting are carried out are emphasized.
The writing of scientific articles and thesis and the ethical rules to be followed during this process are discussed. |

The student knows research methods and the basic principles of scientific research.
The student discusses the basic concepts and problems of scientific method and research process.
The student decides which subject to deal with which research method.

The student compares quantitative and qualitative research methods.
The student explains the importance of ethics in research. |
