OBJECTIVES AND CONTENTS

Objectives of the Course Unit: To ensure that students learn the basic concepts of hazardous material transportation, international and national regulations, hazardous material classes, packaging and transportation principles, loading and unloading processes, responsibilities of the parties and the documents used.
Contents of the Course Unit: It covers definitions and basic concepts in the transportation of hazardous materials, international regulations such as ADR-RID-IMDG, hazardous material classes, packaging rules, transportation vehicles, loading and unloading processes, types of transportation, transportation of hazardous waste, responsibilities of the parties, documents and national regulations in Türkiye.

Explain basic definitions and concepts related to dangerous goods transportation.
Recognize and distinguish international regulations.
Classify dangerous goods and explain their characteristics.
Determine proper packaging and labeling methods for dangerous goods.
Explain the vehicles and equipment used in transportation.
Manage loading, unloading, and transportation processes of dangerous goods.
Evaluate hazardous waste transportation and environmental obligations.
Analyze responsibilities of parties involved in dangerous goods transport.
Design a transportation plan compliant with national and international regulations.
