OBJECTIVES AND CONTENTS

Objectives of the Course Unit: The objective of this course is to ensure students to have the knowledge about minstrels, the tradition of minstrels and to understand the cultural background of minstrel literature. It is also aimed to help the students understand the characteristics of works of minstrel literature and to recognize the important poets.
Contents of the Course Unit: Basic concepts about Minstrel literature, tradition of Minstrel, settings of play and instruments, Minstrel meetings, Representatives of Minstrels literature between 15th-20th centuries, sample texts.

Remember the general characteristics, importance and sources of Minstrel literature.
Analyze the historical development of Minstrel literature through texts.
