OBJECTIVES AND CONTENTS |

Objectives of the Course Unit: | The objective of this course is to teach students the concepts of tale and folk story, narrator, narration, narrative environments and functions of these works. At the end of the course, students will be able to distinguish these genres from other types of folk literature, compare them with other genres, and understand the transition period between Turkish genres. |
Contents of the Course Unit: | General characteristics of tales, their sources, their classification, their relation with other literary genres, characteristics of folk stories, their sources, their classification, their relation with other genres, examination of the sample tale and folk story texts. |
