OBJECTIVES AND CONTENTS
Objectives of the Course Unit:	Bu derste; cinsiyet kavramının biyolojik anlamından bağımsız olarak toplumsal anlamıyla, aile, siyaset, emek, ataerkil toplum, feminizm, şiddet gibi konular çerçevesinde ele alınması ve özellikle kadının toplumdaki yeri üzerine öğrencide farkındalık yaratılması amaçlanmaktadır.
Contents of the Course Unit:	Dersin içeriğini; cinsiyet kavramı, cinsiyetin kültürel olarak inşası, toplumsal cinsiyete dayalı işbölümü, ataerkil toplum, kadının bu toplumdaki rolü, kadının siyaset, eğitim, aile, şiddet, hukuk, emek kavramları ile ilişkisi, feminist teoriler, dünyada ve Türkiye’de kadın hareketleri oluşturmaktadır.

Cinsiyet kavramını toplumsal boyutuyla tanır ve toplumsal cinsiyet kavramını tanımlar.
Toplumsal cinsiyet çalışmalarında kullanılan teorik yaklaşımları özetler.
Kadın ile aile, siyaset, eğitim, hukuk gibi toplumsal kurumlar arasındaki ilişkiyi eleştirel bir bakış açısıyla yorumlar.
Ataerkil toplum yapısını değerlendirir ve gündelik hayatından örneklerle toplumsal cinsiyet kavramına ilişkin örnekler verir.(
Dünyada ve Türkiye’deki kadın hareketlerinden örnekler verir ve bu olaylara ilişkin bu ders aracılığıyla geliştirdiği bakış açısıyla değerlendirmede bulunur.
Kadına yönelik şiddeti eleştirir ve sosyolojik çözüm önerileri tasarlar.
