| Objectives of the Course Unit: |
Dersin amacı; müzik sosyolojisindeki temel yaklaşımlar çerçevesinde müzik olgusuna sanat-toplum ilişkisi de göz önüne alınarak sosyolojik bir analiz yapmaktır. Müziğin toplumdan nasıl etkilendiği ya da toplumu nasıl etkilediği, müziğin kültür, kimlik, modernleşme, siyaset gibi kavramlarla karşılıklı ilişkisinin anlaşılması ve örnekler üzerinden öğrencinin katılımının da aktif olduğu bir değerlendirme yapılması hedeflenmektedir. |

Dersin içeriğini; müzik sosyolojisi ve tarihten günümüze müziğe karşı geliştirilmiş yaklaşımlar, müziğin toplumsal anlamı ve sosyologlardan örnekler, müzik sosyolojisinde dönemsel tartışmalar ve dönüşümler, Türkiye’de müzik sosyolojisi ve müziğin toplumsal anlamları, müzik ile modernleşme, kimlik, kültür, siyaset ilişkisi oluşturmaktadır. |

| Müziğin sadece bir sanat dalı olmadığını ve müzikal eserlerin sosyolojik birer araştırma objesi olduklarını bilir. |
| Müzik sosyolojisinde temel yaklaşımları özetler ve müziğin toplumsal anlamını yorumlar. |
| Müzik ile modernleşme, siyaset, cinsiyet, ırk, kimlik arasındaki kompleks ilişkiyi yorumlar. |
| Herhangi bir müzikal eserdeki toplumsal göndermeleri ayırt eder. |
| Müzik üzerine geliştirilmiş temel sosyolojik yaklaşımlardan edindiği bilgi aracılığıyla, gündelik hayatında dinlediği müzikal eserlerin sosyolojik değerlendirmesini yapar. |
