OBJECTIVES AND CONTENTS

Objectives of the Course Unit: To understand the responsibility for overseeing aircraft loading, loading the requirements correctly and having a reliable method by which the students have carried out as requested.
Contents of the Course Unit: Safety and structural integrity of an aircraft that it is loaded in such a way that the specified maximum allowable weights are not exceeded and that the center of gravity as loaded will be within the permitted flight envelope and remain so for the entirety of the intended operation.

KEY LEARNING OUTCOMES OF THE COURSE UNIT (On successful completion of this course unit, students/learners will or will be able to)

Define aircraft weight and balance records and cargo manifest.
Define quantity of cargo and passengers or troops to be loaded and proper placement in aircraft.
Explain how to load/cargo distribution, compute weight and balance, and determine the amount of weight to be placed in each compartment or at each station.
Understand factors such as fuel load, aircraft structural limits, and weight and balance factors.
Understanding the importance of communication in aviation and the most used abbreviations, ATC instructions
