OBJECTIVES AND CONTENTS
Objectives of the Course Unit:	Bu ders öğrencilerin Batı Uygarlığının geçmişi ve bunu oluşturan kültürel öğeler, İngilizce ve Türkçe'nin tarihi ve gelişimi hakkında bilgi sahibi olmasını amaçlar.
Contents of the Course Unit:	Bu ders dil ve kültür, çeviri ve dil, dünya dili İngilizce, Türkçenin tarihi, gelişimi, özellikleri, Roma ve Yunan uygarlıkları, Bizans medeniyeti, Rönesans ortaya çıkışı ve etkileri, kaşifler çağı, deniz aşırı yolculuklar ve sonuçları, sanayi devrimi, teknolojik gelişmelerin dile yansımaları, İngilizcenin günümüzdeki önemi, siyasi, ekonomik ve sosyal nedenlerini içerir.
