OBJECTIVES AND CONTENTS
Objectives of the Course Unit:	Denizcilik ve Gemicilik terimleri, Gemi ve Kısımları, Gemicilik, Seyir, Denizde Güvenlik, Denizde Haberleşme, Gemi Makineleri ve Yardımcı Ekipmanlar, Emniyet ve Güvenlik Ekipmanları, Seyir Yardımcı Cihazları, Gemi Manevraları hakkında genel bilgiler vermek.
Contents of the Course Unit:	Gemiciliğin tanımı ve tarihçesi, bir gemiyi tanımlayan özellikler ve terimler, gemicilikte yararlanılan yardımcı yapılar, gemicilikte kullanılan ölçü birimleri. Gemilerin tipleri, genel sınıflandırmaları, gemilerin yapısı ve bölümleri, güverteler. Temel hukuku ve deniz hukukunun kavramlarını, detaylarını öğretmek. Uluslarararası denizcilik sözleşmeleri tanıtmak, detaylarını öğretmek. Gemide çalışma düzeni, Gemi mürettebatı, Zabitan ve tayfanın görevleri, Yönetim şeması, Gemide yaşamın kural ve gelenekleri, Halatlar ve halat işleri, Halat çeşitleri, yapıları ve kullanılma yerleri, Başlıca gemici bağları ve kullanılma yerleri, Manevrada kullanılan halatların isimleri, manevra komutları, Halat vinçleri, halat loçaları. Deniz ticari ve teknik işletmeciliği güvenlik ve kalite yönetimi deniz çevresinin korunması, güvenlik ve kalite yönetim sitemlerinin hazırlaması ve uygulanması yasal ve ticari gereklilikler bayrak ve liman devletleri uygulamaları

Denizcilik ve gemicilik ile ilgili mesleki ve teknik terimleri tanımlar.
Geminin yapısı, denizde yaşam ve denizcilik ile ilgili temel düzey bilgiyi izah eder.
Seyir, Seyir yardımcılarının ve haberleşme ekipmanlarının kullanımı, gemi mürettebat sorumlulukları hakkında bilgi verir.
Gemi tiplerine göre yük elleçleme donanımlarını sınıflandırır.
Geminin işletilmesi, denize ve yola elverişlilik konusunu açıklar.
