Future of the Department

With the advantage of our country's geographical location and the investments made, our maritime fleet capacity, the amount of cargo in our ports, the ships built, maintained and repaired in the shipyards, and the volume of agency services provided to the ships and naturally the need for qualified employees are also increasing. It has been understood by everyone from 7 to 70, especially during the Covid-19 Pandemic period, that maritime transportation is the basis and backbone of international trade and logistics. Because even when life stopped, maritime business continued on its way in a strong and solid way.

As the "IGU Maritime and Port Management Program", we are advancing strongly and firmly and updating our curricula by adapting to changing conditions day by day. We prepare our young people, who prefer us, for the future with both basic information and up-to-date data.

It is appropriate for those who are devoted to maritime, who want to improve their business knowledge in this field, and who are also interested in other subjects related to maritime management. As can be seen under the titles of "Program Career Opportunities" and "Departments with Vertical Transfer", the Maritime and Port Management Program forms the basis for other fields as well as maritime. The reason for this is that 85-90% of the transportation of international trade and logistics is done by Seaway. All candidates who are aware of the fact that the backbone of the mentioned fields are maritime transport, maritime trade and maritime businesses, and vocational high school deck/engineering graduates who want to head into these fields are suitable.
