OBJECTIVES AND CONTENTS

Objectives of the Course Unit: It is aimed to give information and concepts related to risk and insurance and to gain basic knowledge and skills about insurance.
Contents of the Course Unit: Definition of basic insurance concepts, history of insurance in the world and in our country, economic effects of insurance, intermediary institutions and organizations in insurance, characteristics of insurance, general principles of insurance, functions of insurance, ethical principles of insurance, the concept of risk and uncertainty, risk management types.

To be able to explain the definition and elements of insurance
To be able to define the basic concepts related to insurance
To be able to explain the types and branches of insurance in writing and orally
To be able to evaluate the importance and contribution of insurance to economic and social life.
To be able to evaluate the accounting records of insurance policy accrual and collection, commission, policy cancellation and compensation payments
