OBJECTIVES AND CONTENTS |
Objectives of the Course Unit: |
The development of this discipline of economics will be dealt with in a historical context. In doing so, we will place importance on both methodological and analytical questions and will consider alternatives to thinking about 'mainstream' economics. |
Contents of the Course Unit: |
The course includes the methodological foundations of the history of economic thought, political economy according to Adam Smith, David Ricardo and malthus, the birth of socialist thought, the end of economic thought and quantitative economics independent of doctrines. |

Will be able to explain the historical origins of contemporary economic concepts. |
Will be able to argue the currents of thought and thought which have been in serious contribution to economics in a historical frame together with this knowledge. |
Will be able to explain the social and historical context in which economic theories emerged throughout history. |
Will be able to discuss different approaches to economic processes. |
Can show that there are multiple ways of thinking about current economic issues. |
