OBJECTIVES AND CONTENTS

Objectives of the Course Unit: It is aimed to gain knowledge, skill and attitude about the treatment and symptoms of diabetes.
Contents of the Course Unit: Definition of Diabetes, Epidemiology, Physiopathology, Classification of Diabetes, Diagnostic Tests, Insulin Treatment and Applications, Self-Monitoring, Oral Antidiabetic Therapy, Diabetes and Nutrition, Diabetes and Exercise, Acute Complications and Care of Diabetes, Diabetic Foot and Care Principles, Diabetes and Pregnancy, Diabetes Education.

Explains the importance of diabetes.
Classifies diabetes.
Practices the care of the individual with diabetes in line with the nursing process.
