OBJECTIVES AND CONTENTS |

Objectives of the Course Unit: | It is aimed to gain knowledge and skill about the care needs and rehabilitation of the patient with stoma, and the modern roles and functions of the stamo nurse. |
Contents of the Course Unit: | Wound and Care, Stoma-Ostomy Definition, History of Stoma, Types of Stoma, Stoma Care Nursing, Task, Authority and Responsibilities, Associations and Organizations Related to Stoma Care, Introduction of Stoma Material, Gastrointestinal System Stoma and Care, Basic Anatomy-Physiology, Stoma Indications, Stoma Surgery, Stoma Locations, Preoperative Patient Preparation, Postoperative Early Care, Complications, Stoma Care Products, Material Preparation and Process Steps, Urinary System Stoma and Care, Urinary Diversion and Types of Stoma, Indications, Surgical Applications, Upper Respiratory System Stoma and Care, Indications for Laryngectomy Stoma. |
