OBJECTIVES AND CONTENTS

Objectives of the Course Unit: The objective of the course is to provide the students with the skills to apply basic techniques specific to Sailing.
Contents of the Course Unit: Contents of the course include; basic concepts of sailing, historical development of sailing, sailing sport racing rules, sail knots, importance and use of clothes in sailing, boat classes and parts, wind formation, wind naming, wind intensities, sailing boat traveling principles, boat equipment, navigation techniques and return techniques.

Define basic concepts related with sailing sport.
Explain the historical development of sailing sport.
Describe the contest rules of sailing sport.
Apply knot techniques used in sailing sport.
Apply the basic techniques specific for sailing sport.
