OBJECTIVES AND CONTENTS

Objectives of the Course Unit: The objective of the course is to provide the students with the skills to apply different techniques specific to Diving.
Contents of the Course Unit: The contents of the course include; the history of diving, its development in the world and in Turkey TSSF-CMAS definition and diving activities available throughout Turkey, basic concepts used in diving, basic signs in Diving and rules to be observed, maintenance and storage of diving equipment, safe diving rules and practices in emergency situations, diving charts and diving related diseases, diving physiology, practical diving theory and demonstration on land, working with ABC material, diving applications on water surface and scuba diving applications.

KEY LEARNING OUTCOMES OF THE COURSE UNIT (On successful completion of this course unit, students/learners will or will be able to)

Define concepts used in diving.
Describe basic signs specific to Diving.
Explain the rules to be observed in Diving and the importance of these rules.
Explain the maintenance and storage methods of diving equipment.
Recognize diving equipment and materials and use them in accordance with purpose.
Apply basic techniques specific to Diving.
