OBJECTIVES AND CONTENTS

Objectives of the Course Unit: The objective of the course is to help students gain the knowledge and skills to explain the complications related to sports injuries and precautions to be taken, to apply the measurements of joint motion angle, to examine current data about muscle and joint injuries.
Contents of the Course Unit: Contents of the Course include; the causes of injuries in sports activities, the risks of injury specific to the branches, the biomechanics and mechanism of sports injuries in shoulder joints, the biomechanics and mechanism of sports injuries in elbow and wrist joints, the biomechanics and mechanism of sports injuries in hip joints, the biomechanics and mechanism of sports injuries in knee joint.

KEY LEARNING OUTCOMES OF THE COURSE UNIT (On successful completion of this course unit, students/learners will or will be able to)

Describe the risk factors of injury in sportive activities.
Explain the complications as a result of sporting activities and precautions to be taken.
Explain the impact of trainings on the musculo-skeletal system.
Apply the joint motion angle measurements.
Examine the current data on muscle and joint injuries.
