OBJECTIVES AND CONTENTS

Objectives of the Course Unit: Objective of the course is to help students gain the knowledge and ability to teach the chess game specific tactics, to prepare the training program for teaching the chess game.
Contents of the Course Unit: Content of the course include game types in chess, evaluation principles, strategy and tactics, openings in chess, game center ideas: improvement of the positions of the pieces, checking and escaping from checking, special moves, preparation of chess teaching methods and training program.

KEY LEARNING OUTCOMES OF THE COURSE UNIT (On successful completion of this course unit, students/learners will or will be able to)

Explain the rules of the game and the movements of the pieces in chess
Apply different openings in chess
Teach chess game
Describe and apply chess-specific tactics
Examine and formulate appropriate training methods for chess game
